Climate Positive Production

Our intention is to be a production company that aims to be as climate positive as possible. We do that by focusing on 4 basic pillars that keep us honest and on the right path. Although we know it’s a tall task, we do our best to keep the big picture in mind. Preserving our planet.

Energy use:

Emissions from electricity, heating, and cooling
  • We use biodiesel or solar powered generators when possible ,as well as propane for heating as it burns cleaner than some other fossil fuels, producing fewer pollutants and greenhouse gases.
  • For cooling we try and provide sufficient shade and hydration for our cast, crew and clients.
  • Encourage folks to dress with the climate and terrain in mind.

Transportation:

Emissions from personal and public transport
  • Hire local crew when filming on location or in town. This helps minimize the number of flights which impacts the amount of CO2 a production can produce. Imagine, 1 flight can emit as much CO2 as some people do in a year.
  • We try and park transport vehicles in shaded areas to help minimize the hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) required to cool a vehicle.
  • We encourage crew members to carpool with each other or we provide a shuttle when possible.
  • Use local vendors.

Food/Waste:

Emissions from food production, transportation, and waste
  • We try and work with caterers who use carbon neutral practices that aim at minimizing the environmental impact of food service by reducing emissions through sustainable practices and offsetting unavoidable emissions. This involves sourcing local ingredients, reducing food waste, using eco-friendly packaging, and investing in renewable energy or carbon offsetting projects like Friends of TreeS
  • Opting for fresh and recently harvested ingredients that come from the region in which the business is located.
  • Managing food waste by composting and recycling.
